14 more reasons why I am going to love my classes this semester.
Scheduled labs go like this:
1) Fingerprint dusting, lifting and printing
2) Plaster casting, photographing and comparison
3) Trace evidence identification, examination and comparison
4) Artificial forensic autopsy
5) Glass fragment collection, examination and comparison
6) Bullet casing, cartridge collection, examination and comparison
7) Blood spatter pattern creation and photographing
8) DNA extraction protocol
9) Mock crime scene
10)Microscopic hair/sperm examination
11)Superglue fuming (pending acquisition of proper materials and weather conditions)
12)Luminol experimentation/photography
13)Witness an autopsy (with luck it will be a really badly decomposing body with insect infestation)
14)I get to practice some photography for class 🙂
and I havent even seen what my forensic pathology class is going to be like

Are you going to the Medical Examiners Office in Baltimore for this? We went for my Paramedic class and it was cool as shit. They had about 6 bodies lined up, in various stages stages of processing. There was one body in there who had been in a vicious car crash, where his minivan became squashed between two 18-wheelers and one of the trucks carrying liquid soap exploded and roasted this guy so bad that he didn’t have any extremities.
